  • Your Voice Advocacy independently facilitates ‘Peer Advocacy’ for people with learning disabilities in Neath Port Talbot.
  • Peer Advocacy is a unique and effective form of group support.
  • Individuals (or ‘Peer Advocates’) use their own skills, knowledge and experiences to help others who may be going through similar issues in their lives.
  • Peer Advocacy empowers both the person delivering support and the person receiving it.

  • Your Voice Advocacy independently facilitates Peer Advocacy sessions in Neath Port Talbot which is funded via a Service Level Agreement with Social Services in this area.
  • Our Peer Advocacy Officer Ronan Ruddy runs training and support sessions in several centres across Neath Port Talbot that feed into a central consultation group called ‘Listen to Us’
  • ‘Listen to Us’ has developed into a powerful tool for direct engagement for people with learning disabilities and the local authority with a member sitting alongside the Principal Officer for Learning Disabilities as Co-Chair at Planning Meetings.
